How to fish wire between floors.
Buy a bit that has a hole on the end of it so you can use the bit itself to pull wires.
Use the electric tape to fasten the e thernet wire to your coat hanger and pull it through the wall.
Run electrical cable through walls and across ceilings without tearing them apart.
Then pull the cable through the wall plate and out the next wall box opening.
Keep lowering the fish tape until the nail connects to the magnet stuck on the wire.
Attach the wire or cable to a fish tape or coat hanger using electrical tape and feed it into the hole until it reaches the opening at the other end.
Hurry to the next floor now and drill a hole in the bottom wall.
Once your hole is drilled you can shove a glow rod through the hole to start fishing wire attach your wire to the eyelet at the end and pull it back through.
1 peel back part of the carpeting from the floor.
Make sure that someone holds the opposite end of the cable securely while you fish it to the next location to avoid pulling the cable into the wall where you can t reach it.
2 drill a 2 inch hole into the floor directly above each joist between the access panel and the wall on which the cable will terminate.
At the other opening tie an iron nail or a similarly sized metal object to a fish tape and lower it down through the hole in the wall.
Disconnect the pull string from the old cable.

Use a coat hanger to fish the wire through on the other side and tack your cables to a stud to keep them neat and out of the way in case there is any future wall cutting.
If you re working from the attic you can drop a weighted string down wall cavity then attach the wire to the string and pull it through.
Run the wire or cable to its destination.

Strip the end of the sheathing attach the wires to the fish tape and tape them in place.
Head back to the opening where the wire was sitting and remove the magnet and the nail then tie the fish tape to the wire.
If you have another floor to go you can follow the same steps in the same order.
Glow rods can also be used to hook wires to pull them out as a wire snake tool.
3 drill a 1 2 inch hole into each joist so that you can access the cavity on both sides of each joist.
Cut the pull string and tie it up in the junction box or other accessible but hidden is ok location at both ends.
