After about five or six years when the original polymer coating on concrete tiles has dissolved away or after cleaning off old moss and lichen it would be worth treating the surface of the tiles with a biocide a cocktail of fungicide bactericide and algaecide or a very strong horticultural disinfectant like jeyes fluid.

It is used by by vegetable gardeners to sterilise the soil and does not harm.

I use diluted jeyes fluid in a watering can for killing off the moss on our block paving.
Please use the jeyes fluid and the water it is dissolved in very very sparingly.
Moss on a roof is only a cosmetic problem its presence does not affect the lifespan of a tiled roof.
Its the heat of the sun in summer that gubbers flat roofs as the expansion and contraction is what ruins flat roofs.

The grit is spread over the roof to do exactly what the moss is doing ie shielding the felt.
I don t think it will hurt domestic animals but it could harm insects worms slow worms etc if it reaches them.
